There is a README.txt file included that you should check out before using the program. There is now also a very simple GUI. For CoD4, you should be able to generate, compile, and link a map all from right here.

My game is installed to the default location, I unziped to the location stated in the read me...But nothing happends when i generate?? CmdPrompt will come up then go away, It says something but i cant get it to stay long enough to read it lol. What am i doing wrong?

Thanks! As far as future plans, it really depends on response from users and their requests. In the short term, I think it would be cool if people could come up with some alternative motif XML config files that could be bundled together to give more options "out of the box". As far as an XML editor... hm... Maybe.

Hard to know precisely what the bug is your getting. To get more detailed info, (assuming winxp here), go to start->run, then type cmd. It will open a DOS window. Then navigate to the directory where you unzipped the program, using the cd command, eg, cd "c:\documents and settings\anon\Desktop\prag". Then you can run motd.bat to generate a "map of the day", today it would be mp_20080421 . You will see all of the output there and the window will not close. Please post back your results here and I can try to debug. Thanks!
Having the same problem as anonymous has. It looks like a dos window opens just for a second and then disappears. I am using xp home and have cod4 installed in the default location.
Anonymous #2, have you tried running "cmd" from Start->run as I suggested to Anonymous #1? Any output you see there would be useful for me to debug.

1. Do you have the cod4 mod tools installed?
2. Do you have the game installed in a location other than the default?
I have a question about terrain dimensions. It seems I can't get a map with size x="7500" y="7500" z="600".
When I generate map I got :
Writing terrains (1)... (null):1: uncaught exception: Point <0, 0, 140.388595131
57058> not on terrain
The map size seems to be 7000x7000 max :(

I just tried this and had the same problem. The issue for me was the "colorpatch" node. That is a separate terrain that gets created and then used as sort of an overlay on the real terrain, and it affects the lightness and darkness of different spots (not that this actually works in Cod4 - this is a holdover from Cod2). The colorpatch needs to be at least as big as the real terrain.
Ok it works, I've changed colorpatch size accordingly to terrain size.

Thats after i followed exactly as the readme said since my CoD install is defualt and yes i have raidant (running atm btw)

after you generate the map you need to load it up in Radiant.
